Printer Setup for Students

Install (MacOS)

  1. Click here to download a copy of the driver for your computer
  2. After downloading the driver you must double click it to open the disk image, then double click the file labeled "Kyocera OS X 10.6+ Web build 2017.01.30.pkg"
  3. Open System Preferences and click on Printers and Scanners
  4. Click the plus sign to add the printer 
  5. Click on IP
  6. Enter the IP address of the printer you want to add  
    1. 10.1.6.27 = Alfond Room
    2. 10.1.6.41 = Cafe
  7. Under the IP address field change the protocol to LPD (Line Printer Daemon)
  8. Once the IP address has been entered, click on "Choose a Driver" from the drop down list and choose "Select Software"
  9. Then choose the correct printer software for the printer you have selected. The copiers are  Kyocera Taskalfa 4551ci machines.
  10. Click 'Add'
  11. Paper Feeders: Cassettes 3,4
  12. Document Finisher: 1000-sheet finisher
  13. Select 'OK'
  14. You should now be able to print

Install (Windows 10)

  1. Click here to download a copy of the Kyocera driver for your computer
  2. Unzip the folder
  3. Go to the Control Panel and select “Devices and Printers”
  4. Click “Add Printer”
  5. Select “Add a Network Printer”
  6. Stop the printer search and click “The printer that I want isn't listed”.
  7. Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname”, then click "Next"
  8. Enter the IP address of the printer you would like to add in the IP field, then click "Next"
    1. 10.1.6.27 = Alfond Room
    2. 10.1.6.41 = Cafe
  9. Additional port information will be required. On the following screen, click “Custom” “Settings”.
  10. On the following screen, check the “SNMP Status Enabled” box and change “public” to “printers”. Click OK.
  11. Click “Next” to install the printer driver.
  12. At the Install the Printer Driver screen, click “Have Disk” on the bottom right.
  13. Browse to the location where you unzipped the file (for the Kyocera drivers) and open the "kyocera-windows" folder, then the "7,8,10" folder,
  14. Open the 32 bit folder if you have a 32 bit computer, or 64 bit folder if you have a 64 bit computer, then select the “OEMSETUP” file. Click Open.
  15. A new window will pop up and ask you to select the model of the printer. Select the “Kyocera Taskalfa 4551ci”, then click “Next”.
  16. Click “Next” until you can exit the wizard. On the last page of the wizard, there is an option to print a test page. This is highly suggested.
