Printer Setup for Students

Install (MacOS)

  1. Click here to download a copy of the driver for your computer
  2. After downloading the driver you must double click it to open the disk image, then double click the file labeled "Kyocera OS X 10.6+ Web build 2017.01.30.pkg"
  3. Open System Preferences and click on Printers and Scanners
  4. Click the plus sign to add the printer 
  5. Click on IP
  6. Enter the IP address of the printer you want to add  
    1. 10.1.6.27 = Alfond Room
    2. 10.1.6.41 = Cafe
    3. 10.1.6.44= D wing 2nd Floor
  7. Under the IP address field change the protocol to LPD (Line Printer Daemon)
  8. Once the IP address has been entered, click on "Choose a Driver" from the drop down list and choose "Select Software"
  9. Then choose the correct printer software for the printer you have selected. The copiers are  Kyocera Taskalfa 4551ci machines.
  10. Click 'Add'
  11. Paper Feeders: Cassettes 3,4
  12. Document Finisher: 1000-sheet finisher
  13. Select 'OK'
  14. You should now be able to print

Install (Windows 11)

  1. Click here to download a copy of the Kyocera driver for your computer
  2. Right-click the file and select Extract All...
  3. Type "printers" in the search bar.
  4. Click the "Printers and scanners app" that will be the first choice in the dialogue.
  5. Click “Add Device”
  6. Under "The printer that I want isn't listed", click "Add a new device manually"
  7. Click the selection for "Add a printer using an IP address or hostname" and click Next
  8. For Device type, select TCP/IP Device
  9. Enter the IP address of the printer you would like to add in the IP field, then click "Next"
    1. 10.1.6.27 = Alfond Room
    2. 10.1.6.41 = Cafe
    3. 10.1.6.44= D wing 2nd Floor
  10. Click Have Disk
  11. Browse to the folder where you unzipped the file (for the Kyocera drivers) and navigate to the 64bit folder, click on the OEMSETUP.INF, then click OK
  12. A new window will pop up and ask you to select the model of the printer. Select the “Kyocera Taskalfa 4551ci”, then click “Next”.
  13. Click “Next” until you can exit the wizard. On the last page of the wizard, there is an option to print a test page. This is highly suggested.
