2024 May - VPN SSO

Updated

Hi Everyone,

We are making a change to the way you authenticate to the Bigelow VPN, making it easier to use and more secure. You will need to set up the new authentication method in order to access the Bigelow VPN on or after June 3rd.

Who?

Action is required for all VPN users.

What's changing?

Starting on June 3rd, we will be using Google SSO for Bigelow VPN authentication (the same process that we currently use for Amazon and NetSuite.)

How will it work?

When you connect to the VPN, a web browser window will open to verify that you are signed into your Bigelow Google account. If you are not signed in, it will prompt you to.

What do I need to do?

On or after June 3rd, you will need to delete and re-add the VPN profile to your OpenVPN client(s). Please follow the updated instructions at support.bigelow.org/vpn-saml.

What about my OpenVPN multi-factor authentication code?

You will not need your OpenVPN-specific multi-factor authentication code anymore. If Google asks for your MFA code during login, use your Google MFA code.

If you need help setting up your new VPN profile, please contact helpdesk.

Please reply to me directly if you have any other questions or concerns.

Regards,

Kevin
