Map a storage share

Map a storage share (e.g. resources) to a drive letter (e.g. R:\).

  1. Open File Explorer (yellow folder icon in taskbar)
  2. Right-click This PC in the left pane of the window
  3. On Windows 10 select Map network drive...

or

On Windows 11 select Show more options, then Map network drive...

  1. Choose any available drive letter
  2. In the Folder window, type \\storage.bigelow.org then click Browse
  3. Expand the list under “storage” by clicking on the arrow to the left
  4. Click on the shared folder you want to map (labs, ous, projects, etc)
    1. You can also expand the shared folder to see further subfolders and map those directly
  5. After selecting the folder/subfolder you want click OK
  6. Click Finish
Quick connect
  1. Press the Windows key + r
  2. In the Popup "run" box, Type \\storage.bigelow.org
  3. This will open a File Explorer window with the storage volumes (e.g. resources) listed

MacOS

  1. Open Finder (left most icon in the dock or click on desktop)
  2. Click on Menu / Go / Connect to Server
  3. Server Address: cifs://storage.bigelow.org
  4. If prompted, enter your credentials:
    1. Log in as a Registered User
    2. Name: username
    3. Password: network password
    4. Connect
  5. Select the volume that you want to mount (e.g. resources)

Everyone can read/view. Contributions are restricted to the owner of the folder.
